Gas cooker installation will require the services of a licensed gas fitter. Before any installation work is undertaken, the gas plumber will confirm that you have a connection to the mains supply. Where one is not available then you will need to request a new service connection. Once the connection is available, the fitter will come in to fit in the appliance.
For a freestanding gas cooker, the fitter will measure the dimensions of the cooker and the space available for installation to ensure the cooker can fit in. He will lay the cooker on its side and fix the underpins. Next, the gas pipe will be connected to the manifold and gas activated and checked for leakage. The device will then be plugged into the outlet and gas tested to ensure it is working properly.
